Sunday January 10, 2010 - A New Beginning

The Shriners conducted a public installation of the Divan (Board of Directors) for only the 2nd time. I was honored to be installed, along with the other members of the BoD in the presence of approximately 300 guests. What an incredible day. My Lovely and Talented Bride, Carrie, who I will repeatedly refer to as my beacon this year, radiated the beauty and confidence that I adore about her, and my heart was saturated with the affections of my family and friends in attendance.

The food and beverage service were fantastic, all of which were performed by the greatest group of volunteers in the world, SHRINERS. We have a dedicated group of Shriners referred to as "The Hungry Five", who without fail, can put on a great meal for any amount of people. The service was impeccable.

The other chief volunteers, comprised of the appointed Potenatate's Aides, provided Carrie and myself with a day that we will never forget.

We have proven that this event is a vital beginning to each year, and I hope that it continues to improve and have more people in attendance. The pomp and circumstance, and foramality of the event is exactly how we should perceive ourselves as Shriners. We should strive to this level at all times. I was so proud to see the Nobles in the audience don their Fezzes, the emblem of the Shriner, what a proud day to be a Shriners.

Carrie and I arrived at around 10 AM, and when we left at 8:30 PM the party was still going on. It was a great start to a new beginning.
