We had our 5th Business Meeting of the year last night, and only about 60 members (liberal guess) were in attendance. One of the things we changed this year in order to try to bring out more members to business meetings is to offer free food and camel's milk. Our Hungry 5 have consistently cooked delicious sausages with grilled peppers/onions/mushrooms. And up until last night, it has been a good idea where the numbers have steadily increased. It is a little disconcerting to think that the membership have 6 opportunities this year to share their thoughts on our organization, and out of 3500 members, less than 60 attend.
Oh well, besides that, the meeting went great, had some very nice presentations by the chairman of upcoming events and we are officially into the latter part of the Shrine Calendar. It begins with a couple of events in October, our Poker Progressive Social on Saturday October 2, where all the unit rooms will be opened and guests will be able to partake in some good social entertaining. The other event is our first annual Oktoberfest on Saturday October 16, which will have german camel's milk, food and music.
I have a finance meeting tonight at the shrine center, and will go visit the Highlanders, but besides that it should be a quiet evening.
Take Care
