Thursday September 30, 2010

The last day of September, is everybody ready for the holiday? I know this is a somewhat sad time in the Shrine, because our Snowbirds are getting ready to leave in the next couple of weeks, and we will not see them until late April/May. I cannot blame them, I would get out if had the opportunity, avoiding the cold/snow.

Anyway, last night was the Annual Potentate's Birthday Party (Official). The event was coordinated by the Chief Rabban and the 2011 General Chairman. We feasted on stuffed cornish game hens and homemade oatmeal raisin/peanut butter cookies, hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!! Oh yeah, the platters of delicious hummous as appetizers were great.

Without going into too much detail, I am in awe over the support the nobility has shown not only for this years Board of Directors, but also the Shrine in General. I was incredibly honored by the gifts, and I am so touched deep in my heart, soul and mind. If ever I needed a reminder of how I love this organization, it came last night with the outpouring of Shrine Brotherly Love. I cannot thank this group of fine Men, we are a family of Brethren. I cherish my relationship with all of them.

After being entertained by a dummy, the second time I have kissed this thing by the way this year, I know I must be crazy, I left around 9:30 to get home a little early. I was at the Shrine Center every day this week, and wanted a little break.

Thursday Sept. 30: Well the break did not last too long, I actually had to go to the Shrine Center this morning at 7:00 A.M. to take care of some Board business. I only had to stay around 30 minutes or so and got into work around 8:30 this morning. I think my quota for the week is filled, however, we will be back this Saturday evening for the Poker Progressive Social Party of the Year.

I will hope to see many new faces around the Shrine Center on Saturday.
