June 15, 2010

Last night was a regularly scheduled Temple Business meeting. I got to the Shrine center around 4:00 P.M. and met briefly with the Board to discuss some matters that may be very beneficial in the near future.

We also had two new young candidates to be initiated in the short form ritual which we conducted prior to the business meeting.

I know that the June Business meeting is usually most attended meeting, besides the annual elections, due to the snow birds return for the summer, but to my amazement there were over 100 Nobles in the audience when I stepped up to the podium. I later found out that the Hungry Five served more hot dogs/sausages, grilled onions/peppers/mushrooms than any other business meeting (I finally had one after the meeting and all I can say is hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm).

The Business of the Temple went pretty smoothly, I was really satisfied with the outcome, and one proud moment was our Membership Director called to the stage 10 of the newest Nobles from the Spring Ceremonial to be recognized. He had organized a small gathering prior to the meeting and wined and dined the new candidates and then took them on a tour of the entire building. My job is easy with Nobles like our Membership Director who take the proverbial bull by its horns and succeed in their goals.

I stuck around until about 10:30 saying hello to some of the units and got home to a very, very, very active kitty (did I mention the level of activity of Mays). I do not remember Ruth and Cobb being this active when they were kittys. Anyway, hopefully he brings some enthusiasm to the other two. Carrie stated that there was a 3-way brawl during the evening, but the outcome was very positive, family bonding, team building, just the same as in any well-run organization. I guess I should study their interaction further, ha, ha.

Tuesday June 15, 2010 I think I am taking the evening off from the Shrine. Everybody is still talking about the Pote's Ball and the wonderful job that Carrie and her team accomplished. Isn't she swell (understatement of the year).

Much Love
