3 Days, over 600 miles driving; I'm tired.
Last night, I picked up Carrie in Ann Arbor and drove to Coldwater to attend the annual Fish Fry of Branch County Shrine Club. Branch County SC is our farthest west SC in our jurisdiction. They have a wonderful fish fry at the farm of one our neighbors. During dinner their neighbhoring Amish family arrives on a horse and buggy delivering fresh, homemade chocolate and strawberry ice cream, hmmmmmmmm.
Of course, I did not get home until 11:30 PM, and went to work today.
Recap of the weekend: Saturday August 15. Carrie made desserts for 5 million, or what seemed like 5 million, they were delicious and we enjoyed them after a wonderful bbq at the Director's Staff Annual Picnic. We were once again on Lake Sherwood in Commerce Township, and enjoyed the company of over 70 members and their ladies. Although it was very hot and humid, we had a ball. We didn't get home until 9:30, and we were tired.
Sunday: Carrie, once again the consummate baker, made 100 cupcakes (can anyone say bumpy cake cupcakes, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm). We went back to Commerce Township, this time to a golf course to volunteer at a charity event to fight Breast Cancer. We basically manned the "Vegas Hole" all day. It was real fun and we did win a nice silent auction item. We did not get home until 10:00 P.M. Tired.
Today (I am all over the place in this post, sorry). I am at the Shrine Center taking care of some mail and let the Highlanders in for their weekly practice. I am going home and spending the evening with my wife. You may think that after spending 600 miles in a care with her over a 3 day period that we are sick of each other, but believe it or don't, I enjoy her company, she is a pretty cool dame, and I basically am in love with her, who wouldn't be with all her talents and especially putting up with me and the last 5 years.
See you later
