I am sitting in the Potentate's Office and listening to the Brass Band playing "Hail to the Victors", the shrine is awesome.
We had a finance meeting this evening and our Treasurer had a flat tire. Would you believe that the emergency service/towing truck owner that showed up had a square and compass and scimitar logos on the tow truck. What a beautiful world.
For a Tuesday evening, the Shrine Temple is a rockin'. Not only do I hear the Brass Band practicing, I can hear the Highlanders tuning their bag pipes. Also the New and Improved Dramatic Corps are practicing for this weeks debut of the newly revised, first section of the Shrine Ceremonial.
I have heard that we have at least 25 candidates for the Shrine this weekend and we are ready to welcome in with open arms.
This will probably be my last night at the Shrine Temple. I am leaving for Port Huron on Thursday to get into "Shrine-mode" (I know, when am I not in Shrine mode). Did I mention that I will be golfing on Friday morning, for only the 2nd time in my life (that should be a spectacle).
Great news on the College Football front, the Big 10 is finally going to make enter the 21st century. We should hear in a week about the expansion into a mega conference, one that should bring those corn-shuckin huskers into the Big House at least once in a while to show them how to really play Midwestern ball. I am so excited over the prospect of expansion into the Midwest and east, it makes perfect sense and is long overdue.
Have a great week and I will talk to you on the other side of the Ceremonial. It is Tuesday evening, which means LOST and Sonic Burgers for dinner. Take Care
