Friday May 7, 2010

I had a busy week. I spent Monday - Wednesday afternoon/evenings at the Shrine Center for different meetings. Last night I drove out to Port Huron to attend the Blue Water Shrine Club's monthly meeting. The opportunity has not presented itself for me to attend one of their meetings this year and although I will be in Port Huron much of the next week, thought I would visit. They had a very nice meeting and are excited that the Shrine is coming to town within the week.

As I previoulsy mentioned, the beginning of May marks the return of our snow birds, and I have received many calls from newly arrived Nobles. There has been so much positive feedback for the many decisions and the directions the Board is charting, I am really amazed at the responses.

Well, our first Outreach Clinic will be held this Saturday in Port Huron, prior to the Spring Ceremonial. As I was driving around Port Huron I noticed two very prominently placed billboards advertising the clinics, I hope that we are able to find children who can benefit from our hospitals.

Well this evening I will finally see the Class Honoree of the Spring Ceremonial. He has been in Florida all winter, suffered a stroke, and did not beleive that he would make it up in time. However, he has perservered and is back to receive the honor he deserves. It is a moment like this to honor someone who has given so much to the Shrine, without any selfish motives. I am going to raise my glass to him.

Anyway, the weather is a rainin' and the amount of green around town is beautiful, a sight for soar eyes.

Have a great weekend.
